I just upgraded from my trusty iPhone 7 Plus to the Xs Max and I’m really impressed with it.

The OLED screen is absolutely gorgeous. It’s perfect in fact. No variances in brightness or colour. Uniformity is amazing.

Face ID is great! So easy to use and it works flawlessly. It took me about 10 minutes to forget all about the home button.

The notch doesn’t bother me in the least. I was slightly worried about it initially but it turns out to be a non-issue for me.

Very happy with this thing. It’s easily the most expensive but also the best phone I’ve ever owned to date. Now I’m looking into the best wireless charging stand to get for it. I’ll be taking it on vacation with me soon and look forward to the pics I’ll get using it.

I also went from the 7 plus to the XS Max, and like you I’m really impressed with it.

The battery life is amazing, I barely get below 20% after 2 days use, but I do use my iPad Pro in between, so that helps :p

In regards to the wireless charging stand, I’m in the market for one, so if you get one that is as good as your experience with the XS Max ;) let me know.

Thanks

There are so many charging stands/pads out there. I’m looking closely at the Samsung and Belkin brands.

I added a bit to my original post, regarding battery life, you prob missed that bit lol

Keep me updated on which one you get. If you could test a few that would be even better :p

Oh yes, I missed the battery part. I’ve only had mine for a day but the battery does seem really great. I’ll easily get a day or more out of it as I also use my iPad Pro quite a bit each day. :)

Happy you like it so much!
I have one also and am very pleased with it.
Have not had any issues with build quality, reception, speed, color shift, etc. as some others have talked about.
My only "complaint", as so many others legitimately had with this years X releases were the prices. I sprung for a 256g, and that was my choice. But I think the prices per phone/and memory tier should have been $100 less.

It’s really only a little larger than my old 6s Plus, body-wise, so it fits my hands and pockets just like the previous.
The reception is even better than the 6s Plus and the extra screen acreage is great for quick photo editing on the fly.

Good luck with it.

It depends how much you want to spend. I use an Anker PowerWave 7.5w stand and it's been excellent. It was pricey but it has a built in fan to cool the unit while charging and also comes with a 3.0Qi charging brick to supply adequate power so it can provide 7.5w quick charge plus you can charge your phone in portrait or landscape mode. I like the stand over the pad because when your at your desk and the phone is charging all you have to do is tap the screen and Faceid unlocks the phone without having to pick it up. I haven't plugged my X into a charging cable in months..

My exact sentiments!

I was blown away by how nice the Xs Max turned out when I finally upgraded. The notch is aesthetically crap, but like most annoyances, the brain functions to ignore it automatically.

After plonking down that much cash, it is extremely hard to have any other opinion that challenges ones own judgment and self worth. The XS Max is a well built device.

Other than screen size, what makes it much better for you over the X?
As someone else mentioned, camera and the X was no slouch.

The screen size is the biggest thing.
Audio is better as well.
Not sure if it was my X or not but I haven’t had any issues with “hey Siri” responding.

The X was ok watching hockey. The max is a much better experience.
