My Iphone4 closes ITunes

This week after installing the update for ITunes when I attach my I4 to my G$ it suddenly announces that 'ITunes quit unexpectedly' - has anyone else experienced this and if so what did you do about it to cure the problem.

My Itunes functions fine without the I4 and vice versa, but I need to back up and synch.
