My iPhoto wont open anything even though the app opens

Whenever I open iPhoto the application opens and then nothing happens. I tried then just opening the library from user/pictures and it still does nothing. I have iPhoto 11, fully updated (From the disk not the mac app store), i recently reinstalled it after facing this issue to no avail, I also tried deleting the com.apple.iphoto stuff in Library/Preferences which also did nothing. I also tried holding down command and option while booting iPhoto to rebuild it and/or repair permissions, but I never got the menu that allows me to do that to pop up. I don't really know what to do now to try to fix it, im out of ideas.
