Just what I think the new iPod should be like. Share your thoughts :)

Nice. An iPod like that would be quite thin! At least I think so, with the extra space to spread things out.

anychance of uploading another way? I can't access that from school! And im stuck here for the next few weeks!

that'd be awesome! i just hope it's more durable.i'm thinkin that it'll be before 6-8 months though. the 5G ipod is pretty old. the 5.5G ipod isn't much of an update.

i dont think the ipod is on its way out any time soon, but we will see a new video ipod to the line.

I hope it looks something like this, with flash storage. But in order for it to be flash based we will have to wait for the price of NAND flash to go down.

Fear not, I heard it in the grape vine that Apple plans to switch its entire HDD based iPod line to flash based storage. The biggest you can get so far is 160GB as far as I know so expect that kind of area at some point in the future.

Those high capacities are for computers...the highest really possible NAND memory for an iPod is 64GB...

fuubuu,

You may not be far from the truth. However, I think the unit will look almost the same as the iPhone but will be thicker to accommodate either an 80 or 120 GB hard drive and appropriately-sized internal battery.

My thoughts are that it will be similar to this but with anodised aluminium casing similar to nano and shuffle, thinner and flash based with longer battery life??

With the iphone on the way then we most likely won't see the 6G ipod till early 2008. Apple won't want any attention taken away from their new little baby. But yeah I'm sure it will look similar to the iphone but not to much, Apple knows it is important that they are easily distinguished from each other to some degree.

If Apple make a 120GB touchscreen aluminium version, I will SO get it.

I'm usually not, but he did ask us to share our thoughts. :p

Well, I just thought you'd all like to see it. It didn't take me very long and I really wanted to have it up on the net before the new iPod comes out so I can see how close I was.

What do you think a 'home button' would be used for?
