I've been using my iPod for a while and it is still version 3.1.3, my iPod was working fine connecting to iTunes until yesterday. I get this message from my iTunes when i connect my iPod to my laptop.

I did a recent Software Update on my iTunes and the version appears to be "iTunes 10".
But I am not sure why my iPod Touch 3.1.3 2nd Gen can't connect anymore. This has been happening ever since I used my wall adapter that I haven't used in ages. But before, I used to use that wall adapter all the time and it had no problem. Just now, I reconnected my iPod and even my Jailbreak application can't recognise it, I know it isn't the cord to my laptop because I used my friends' cords to test if it was the problem.
How can I fix this?
