iPod my iPod is DEAD!!!!

I have a 4th gen. iPod and on new years eve I found it after playing some songs at a party face down on the floor and frozen. I feaked because I keep it " like new". Anyway I tied resetting and testing, but nothing. After, it went blank slowly fading . Hours later it worked for about 2 songs then froze and went blank. The next day it did charge up but then froze and died, for good it seems. There is a small dent in the back from that night. IS IT A GONE FOR GOOD? Can I get it fixed (got it in july) or just get another at some point

If you only got it in July it'll still be under warranty, so you can return it to Apple to be serviced and replaced, hopefully.

Before you start to panic you should try restoring the iPods software.

You can download the latest iPod software from Apple's main iPod page (the link is near the bottom) Run that program, connect your iPod and click 'Restore'.

After it's done that give it a good charge, perhaps overnight, and see if it's still playing up.
