about a week ago, i was updating the songs on it, and windows/itunes gave me an error, that the songs weren't copied because of a disk write error... so i was like "hmm" and unplugged and then the little system folder with a ! came up. so i plugged it back in and tried to restore... i got a "firmware not updated: disk write error" message... i could update the firmware with osx, but not on windows...
luckily the problem seems to have resolved itself and the ipod is blazing away putting nearly 4gb of songs on my ipod...
i'm thinking this was all caused by a recent hook up to an os9 machine... so no more of that for my ipod.
