Hi everyone,

I woke up one morning and grabbed my iPod Touch to check my email, and it would not turn on. At ALL. It was completely dead. I pressed and held the two buttons in different combinations in hopes of seeing an Apple logo. Nothing.

I plugged it into iTunes, the screen was still blank. iTunes gave me a message about it being in Restore Mode, and it needs to be restored. So I restored it from a backup. Yay! The screen turned on! It showed a full battery charge.

Here I am today. The iPod works fine now :D

Does anyone know what the problem might have been, or what caused it?

Same thing happened to me once. I don't know why, but I resolved it the same way you did. It's nice to know that anything short of a catastrophic hardware failure on the Touch can be reversed.
