iPod touch my ipod touch is freezing a lot more...

when the latest version 1.1.4 came out..i upgraded. I do not have my touch jailbroken or anything of that nature and i had the latest version, including the software update. I have never had the problem of it in freezing in the 2 months i've owned itm, but since upgrading th the 1.1.4 version..it's froze several times. To the point that i cannot even power the thing off. After several minutes...it kicks back into gear and runs again. But the freezing thing is really annoying. does anyone have any suggestions about what is causing this and what advice you'd give for wha ti should do? thanks

p.s forgive me if this has been addressed already...point me in teh direction i need to go

i had the same problem and soon after my screen started going dimmer and brighter and off. now my ipod's stoped working altogether, the screen won't light up and the itunes won't read it properly saying theres an error.
