y ipod touch will not stay off after I go through the proper steps to turn it off. Once I slide the red slider it turns off for .5sec then the Apple icon comes on and turns phone on.

Also new is my phone is not charging. It was fine yesterday, and now it wont charge. I'm charging it from the same usb and with the same cable and imac as always.. HELP!!

Um you don't have to turn it off by sliding that red thing just to turn it off.. Just push down on that black thing on top... Oh yea I can't help you on that charging thing... I advise you to go to apple store to check it out...

Pushing it only puts the iPod to sleep. Holding it, gives you the option to turn it off.

So why do that? Just put it to sleep... If you keep on holding it then it will mess up the ipod... ONLY slide that red thing when something it wrong with your ipod touch/Iphone like when it freezes or your apps are not working DUHH!!!!!

if u ever had an old ipod, how often did u actually turn it off (holding menu and select) rather then sleep (holding play)

I understand all of this, but my point is there is something wrong with my ipod and need it fixed. My main concern is that it wont charge. Its not like the battery died slowly, It charged perfectly fine one day, and not the next. I mentioned the that it wouldn't turn off thinking it might be something in connection with the battery not charging as both problems happended at the same time. So, if anyone can help with the chargin issue (that MIGHT be connected to it not turning of as IT SHOULD regardless whether you choose to use that option or not) please help... Thanks!!
