I'm SOOOOO pissed! I was doing all the sound and DJ/Music for the engagement party that my fiancee's parents threw for us, and as I was cleaning up my stuff, I was called away for some pictures. I didn't think much of it, it was all family and employees of the place we were that had been there all day. When I got back, all my sound eqiuip was there, my MBP was there, but my 80gig iPod was gone!

Apparently when we went away for pictures, one of the dishwashers came out of the kitchen and was milling around my stuff.

My ladies dad is on the case, he works in loss prevention, so if anyone is going to get it back, he'll get it back!

Just wanted to rant, sorry!

But I hope you get it back. Strange that nothing else was taken though.

The iPod is really the only thing you could walk away with and not look really suspicious. If they tried to walk away with the MBP under their arm someone would be much more likely to stop them.

Right.

Also, you may not recognize that your iPod is stolen as fast as you would say, a MBP or speaker equipment.

Stoled v.: past tense of stole for idiots

:)

So...like this, right?

Seriously...I hope you get it back.

Harsh enough having it stolen. My 60giger also is a data backup so if mine would be stolen, I'd be beyond ranting. 'Hope you can get some "Sopranos" action if you nab the thief. (Just kidding, kind of...)

Are you giving this explanation so that idiots can understand your inappropriate use of the English language, or are you suggesting that while 'stolen' is the correct past tense of 'stole' people who are idiots are to use 'stoled' to properly denote their idiocy?

I wish you the best of luck in recovering your iPod.

Well, I guess I am an idiot for trusting people and I used "stoled" to properly denote my idiocy :)

I like the engraving, not as good as my friends wife-to-be who got his engraved with "You are making fingerprints, give me back to Tim," but good nonetheless!

I do hope to get it back, but I know the cances of that are slim to none...

Well, if it's any consolation, there's at least some good that comes of all this... I will be stealing this idea when I buy my next iPod.

... of course, my name isn't Tim... :D

{sorry, but I can't resist: 'stolen' isn't the past tense of anything. 'Stole' is already the past tense of 'to steal'. 'Stolen' is the past participle of 'steal'.}

I, too, hope the OP gets his iPod back.

i will be in a month or 2 also be going to organize an event. and i would probably be in same situation as the OP.

after reading what happened, i am slightly freaking out on how to keep all my stuff secured for them not to be stoled (sorry, can't help it ;) ).

that does suck. I hope you get it back, but if not, if you are in the market for a new mac, you can get an pod for free...

Just keep an eye on it, and make sure that you trust the people around!

I just buyed (see, there is another one ;) ) a new mac about 2 mos ago, so..... that's down the drain!

While I'm waiting to see if my big iPod shows up, I NEED an iPod for work (its half my job!) so I am off to Costco to get a Nano. Thats OK though, that one I can charge to my company credit card and write off at the end of the year :p

Well, I now have a new black 30gig sitting in my lap. I went to price club to get a 4 gig nano just for work, but....... the 30 gig is only $50 more!

Who would get an 8gig nano when the 30 gig video is the same price?!

If the iPod was stoled I sure hope you geted it back. Or wait until a new version comes out and buy yourself an upgrade.
