My MBP is logging me off when it has been closed for a few hours. How do I prevent it from doing that? I just want it to wake up from sleep, not get logged off.

Check: System Preferences, Security & Privacy. Click on the small lock at the bottom, enter your admin password. Then click on the "advanced" button. If the "Log out after......" has been selected, unselect it. Then exit your way out from System Preference.

isn't it suppose to log one out when you have the screen closed?
I guess you could always disable "require password (drop down) after sleep or screen saver begins" in the settings @chscag mentioned above, but then you will have to lock the system manually. I would not recommend it

It should only lock it, not log off and close all my programs. When I open it, I should be able to use Touch ID and have all my apps still open.

I think a day or so later. After getting it all set up.
