This happened to me last year...it went down for 3 hours about 15 minutes prior to pre-orders. I get terrible cell phone reception in my house and had to jog down the street about 200 yards until I could pick up an LTE signal to order with my iPhone.

Oh the memories we create on pre-order nights! Guess it beats lining up 6 or 7 hours before the stores open on the 19th!

I'd rather jog down the street in the middle of the night than wait in line for hours. Plus the story is way more interesting.

Yeah the lines are even worse.. I wonder what kind of line one would have to go through if they opt to have their preordered phone picked up at an apple store..

Were you still able to get a launch day phone?

And I wonder if apple got any better at this in terms of less errors when pre ordering because the servers are overwhelmed....

6 or 7 hours? I'll be there for probably 20 hours, I'd guess. All rigged up and ready to have some fun. :)

Haha that my friend is dedication!

Yep! Thankfully my ISP went out about 15 minutes prior to launch, so I was able to get my shoes on and grab my iPhone 5 and jog down the street and use the Apple Store app. Got it ordered 2 minutes after mid-night! Arrived 8am via UPS on launch day.
