Not sure why Apple wiped my Macbook Pro (High Sierra) when replacing the battery, but I have to assume they had a reason. I was able to restore everything else, but music isn't there. I know my iTunes account exists because I can access all the music on my Android phone.

I did sign a disclaimer, so I'm not complaining that the computer was wiped. Maybe I didn't understand the nature of my backup. I thought I had a full backup. I use time machine and an external hard drive, and back up every hour. I was confident that everything would be restored. I was able to restore everything from the backup drive and didn't notice right away that there was nothing in my iTunes. The thing that's odd about it is I know that my iTunes account exists because I can get everything that was in iTunes on my phone. I was just wondering whether anyone else has encountered this. My next step is to call tech support.

You should be able to download anything purchased from iTunes. But if you library is intact on your phone, you could just sync via cable back to you computer.

They probably wanted to do some testing running macOS and did not want to ask for your password and things. Your computer will be wiped whenever it goes in for support. ALWAYS back up before sending anything in.

Good advice. And I’d add that multiple backups to different destinations, both verified and tested if possible is the way to go. Data is too important to lose.
