So after having my phone for a week today I ventured out to test the upper limits my phones wireless capabilities. According to the Verizon 5G map there is 5G Ultra Band in two cities sort of near me one being Anaheim and the one I went seeking in LA near Koreatown. Surprisingly I actually found another spot as well that wasn’t on the map. I’ll be sharing locations and results of both of those areas below.
Ok so the first location was on Wilton Pl between 3rd and 8th st I believe. I was so excited to see 5G UW pop up on my phone as I was driving. Lol. That test garnered about 1.2 GBs. And a ping of only 5. Mind blown. This is faster than my home internet which ironically is 1Gigabit but I’ve never seen it faster that 700 mbps. Yeah I know first would problem. Lol.
The second location which came as a surprise to me as it is not on any map was found by The University of Southern California (USC) on Adams and Flower right near the 110 FWY. That one had me lost for words, 1.8 GB. Omg.
Definitely excited to see the future of internet and glad that 5G UW isn’t just in stadiums and such.
Happy 5G UW hunting.
