My widget says the same thing.

Where did you order your RAM from? Cause I ordered mine from OWC the 9th and it hasn't even shipped yet...

1. Go to said store
2. Dump the GPU ROM
3. Post it here
4. ??

Man now its making me sway a little towards the 2.4GHz 8 core model as I can pick one up right now but then I know I'll regret it because of the lower clock speeds.

I had the 2.26GHz Nehalem 8 core Mac Pro and overall wasnt impressed due to the lower clock speed.

The 3.2GHz quad is the one I'm really eying.

One interesting thing is that the guy at the Apple store also told me that the 12 core Mac Pros might come very soon maybe even tomorrow.

Thats weird. I remember hearing somewhere that 12-core MPs will only be available for order...

custom order takes longer. I bet they do hit stores soon. Apple store can't have NO mac pros for 2 weeks...they will have basic models of the 2010 MP I'd guess. Also, the Mac Pro wasn't redesigned at all, they just put in slightly newer parts which means it wasn't a huge deal at the factory. Thats what makes Apple so great..they keep it simple.

I must ask, what widget might that be?

http://junecloud.com/software/mac/delivery-status.html

There's also an iPhone/iPad version($5), and they sync. And buying the app makes me feel less guilty about not donating for the widget. It tracks EVERYTHING. Note the tracking display of my order status directly from Apple. The widget can also send you Growl alerts and push notifications to the iPhone app when your package status updates.

OWC on the 9th, same as you. Judging by your sig, I'm guessing you ordered a 1333Mhz kit? This was a 1066 one. For 4x2GB it's the same kit for 2009s and 2010s, so this went out the door Monday night.

The reason I called this local Apple store is that its a big one at the galleria. I've noticed CONSISTENTLY that this galleria store gets their new Macs the quickest out of the 3 in my area. The other two I didnt even bother to call (well eventually decided to call one of them just for the heck of it) and they said no new Mac Pro, goodbye *click*.

I remember when the i7 macbook pros were first announced, early in the morning the Galleria Apple store were already selling them (had all 17" i7 and the 15" i7 models) while the other Apple stores near me told me to come back after 2pm (for certain models) and the 17" i7 2.66GHz models werent in until a few days later.

Wow, this is an awesome app and widget. Never knew about this. Thank you very much :D

Ahh, that makes much more sense. I ordered a lot of stuff for my system when I ordered the system itself. Most of that has already gotten here, just waiting for the MP now :/

Actually it's a shame that apple didn't supply a 2.93ghz octo.

The 2.93 GHz 12-core is only $200 more expensive than the 2009 2.93 GHz 8-core. Also, the 12-core comes with a better GPU, built in wifi, magic mouse, and supports faster RAM. In my opinion, it would have been dumb for Apple to offer a 2010 2.93 GHz 8-core.

Apple is reversing Moore's law. My 4 year old 2006 base Mac Pro has a higher clock speed than the base quad and it cost less.

Wrong by a long shot. First the 2.93ghz octo from 2009 with 12gb ram, hd4870 and 1x1tb HDD costed me 5435€, the current 2.93ghz with 12gb ram and the hd5870 costs 6254€. Wrong about the faster gpu, apple could have supplied the 2009 as CTO with the HD5870 as option. Faster ram yes, but not everyone needs 12 cores and 8 cores at 2.4ghz is lackluster.

That's a bit harsh saying he's wrong by a long shot. The stock 12 core 2.93GHz is $200 more than the stock 8 core 2.93GHz but has a better GPU, built in wifi, magic mouse and faster RAM as he said. He wasn't wrong in the slightest, you're just after a very specific configuration of which he and everyone else was unaware.

I'm in the same boat. :| My future scratch disk is sitting on my desk in an esd-proof bag, waiting for the MP. The RAM joins it tomorrow...

Thanks for the backup :D

Haha same here. My Caviar Black and Green are right by me still in the box. I've been kinda bored waiting for the MP I even wrote Caviar Green with a green sharpie on that box and Caviar Black with a black sharpie on the Caviar Black box. As for my SSD, I already got it in the OWC Multimount, but thats it...
