My mac has two (2) hostnames

So, I setup a custom hostname for my mac, but when I updated to macOS 15, I now have a hostname of 'Mac' and my custom one. In Terminal I'm identified as 'Mac' and my router states that I'm 'Mac', but I can SSH into my computer using my custom hostname _and_ 'Mac'. In System Settings, only my custom hostname is mentioned, not 'Mac'. How do I resolve this by using only mine? What are the problems of having two (2) hostnames?
