my iMac has been getting the little wheel on shutdown lately. It wasn't like that. Before that it used shutdown quickly. It is a 2.4 GHz iMac, anyone know how to fix this or atleast what the problem is?

Update: now it is giving processor usage which isn't normal for me on what i do on a regular basis. i usually have about 85-95% idle, now its from 58%-76. i tried to shut down and restart my mac(still lagging on shutdown) but when i turned it back on it still had the same processor usage when i checked again. someone please help, im getting a little worried(being that when i switched to mac, the paranoia from having a windows machine and worrying about problems it might have stuck with me)

ok the processor problem seems to be fixed now, it went back to normal usage a little while ago
