My mac just stays at grey screen

My mac just stays at a grey screen and the apple logo appears but nothing loads. I did shift + s and it said something about mach kernil. I just "hacked" it and made another account because my dad wouldn't let me play spore and afterwords I deleted the new admin. could this have contributed to the problem?

I had that in the week, you will have to reboot using your start up disc & reformat your mac
