My Mac Mail font is all squiggley, help please!

I've attached an image as to what the font looks like in my inbox, i've also already searched help on Mac Mail that has told me to change the text encoding but nothing helps....
i'm stuck?:(

So for every message in your inbox, the body displays like this?
