My mac mini won't transfer files to an external drive.

I'm trying to transfer some of my songs from my itunes library to a new computer. I am using a blank iPod video 30gb as an external hard drive to transfer between the two.

But for some reason it only lets me transfer 1381 songs, or 8.61gb, before it stops transferring to the iPod. It'll begin to make the tags for the files, but as soon as it tries to transfer data everything stops.

Oh and I have a mac mini with a 1.25 GHz G4 processor and 512MB of ram and osx tiger.

Any advice?
