Ever since I installed the 10.5.7 update, my Mac Pro (which was NEW in November 2008) hasn't been working properly. Its been crashing programs, not restarting properly, when it goes into sleep mode, it doesn't wake up properly (making me have to shut down and turn it back on) and crashes Firefox when I log out of my email account!!

A Mac tech person at my last job told me about cleaning out the caches (in System, User and Library - all 3) and normally that has worked in the past when my programs get quirky.

I tried this earlier this week, and now my computer is WORSE!! If I go to Menu > Restart...it doesn't RESTART at all - but the light is on and I hear the processor working. None of my settings work anymore (it would turn on at a preset time for me and even though its still SET, nothing works...things like that keep happening) and doing a hard shut down and restart doesn't help either.

Basically my computer is horrible now. It crashes things, doesn't open servers properly, doesn't turn on/restart properly and is making working on it VERY difficult!

I don't know if this is all related to the latest update, but its happened since then. I Googled the update and found A LOT of complaints about it. I hope I don't have to deal with a broken computer at work until they fix the bugs if in fact, it IS because of it!!

I'm a Mac girl through and through, and think I know a little about computers, but can't figure this one out!! I'm not a computer wiz, so any help that anyone can give me would be GREATLY appreciated (and in layman terms would be even better!)...

Thanks!
