Hey all,

I am working in terminal and the attached picture came up, basically it looks like my computer name changed to "androidsomethingsomething"

How did this happen? I certainly didn't do it but now im paranoid, the only thing I remember doing is connecting to a hotspot on a samsung a while ago.

I rebooted and the name reverted back to "dan's apple" but shortly after the reboot the name reverted back to the android one.

What is going on here? Has my mac been compromised?

That's your computer name, just go to System Preferences->Sharing and then update the name.

May also be caused by a Windows Server running DHCP and DNS together. Our server at work does this all the time, assigning the wrong name to hosts. OS X picks up on this as you pictured.

Wish I could figure out why!
