Hey

I have an annoying issue with my macbook pro :apple: . It is the generation of 2010 and it is 10.6.7

When I leave the lid open without using the computer for about 20 or 30 minutes. I t will just restart and the next time I touch the track pad, I see the login page and any work I have done will be gone.

Are you sure that the MBP does restart and not just fall to sleep or activate the password field (System Preferences > Security)?
Have you tried an SMC reset yet?
Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)

Yeah pretty sure. When it goes to sleep the screen goes black with the login box.

In this case it is the login page that comes to you when you start your mac fresh

Does resetting the SMC delete any of my data ( documents, pics, ...) ?
