The Moon.
My family own a 2008 white macbook which, by all accounts has been taken to and beyond the call of duty ( ;) ) I list here the things we have done to it over the years:
  • Dropped it
  • Stood on it
  • Hit it
  • scratched it
  • had coke poured over it TWICE

now here is a list of faults:
  • Disk drive no longer works (i dont need it anyway)
  • The plastic is peeling of around the bezel (i know its a manufacturing fault)
  • the battery doesnt hold a charge
  • headphone socket broken

And yet (apart from above mentioned problems) works well (still on leopard :D). Ok, we thrashed its poor plastic body far beyond its limits and it still works! Its long and no doubt painful life is a tribute to the quality put into apple products!

I would like to hear and of your stories about your MacBooks and prehaps they will receive the RAMman award for exellent service :p

Macbook late 2008 Unibody :

Dropped it several times - stairs, floor etc.
Had Yougurt and Coca-Cola poured on it.
Had several things dropped on it hundreds of times. Hundreds, literally.
I am a smoker so for the last 4 years there was smoke all around it.

Faults :

The HDD stopped working.
The backlit keyboard is not as bright as when it was new.
The Unibody enclosure is scratched and nicked.
The Display is scratched as well.

Don't have any stories but I'm looking into purchasing a refurb, and this is helpful. Knowing it can take alot makes my upcoming purchase a lot easier. Thanks.
