I've had a long time problem with my macbook air (13-inch, Late 2010) microphone. Even though it does work (when making the test in the system preferences section) it performs terribly bad: I can not successfully dictate a simple sentence, can barely be heard in a skype conversation, etc.
I've tried the basic things recommended in this type of cases: I've tested the mic and reconfigurated the preferences more than once and reseted the PRAM, all with no results. I really don't know what to do. It's been months and I still have no solution. Please if anybody knows, please help me.

A trip to the Genius Bar would help...
