My Macbook is deleting my Bookmarks!

I've had my Macbook since 2007 and I've never had any problems with it...UNTIL NOW! I noticed all of my bookmarks have been deleted. I tried saving a new bookmark last night, and when I opened my laptop today it was gone. Can someone please help me fix this???? Pleeeeeeeeease!!!

Why do people only install burglar alarms after they've been burgled ?

Did you backup (export) your bookmarks ?

Which operating system, browser etc ?

Rescue .....

Select History (hopefully you have one many days long)
Open web pages you want to bookmark
Bookmark them
Export bookmarks before closing browser

See if they are deleted again, if they are, at least you now have a backup.

As to why ? I leave that to others
