My Macbook Pro and a 4K Display?

Bought my MBP in March 2013, part number is MC975LL/A. Will it work with a 4K monitor? Specifically interested in: http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/monitors/LU28D590DS/ZA

Apple support says it needs to be a late 2013 MBP, which would really suck.


I'm in need of a better secondary monitor, so if this isn't an option, what is my best play?

From what I understand that machine officially only supports up to 2560x1600, but it actually does do 4k output. The unofortunate caveat is tha it's only at 30Hz, thou I think most affordable 4k screens are only 30Hz (can't check the display you're planning on getting as the link is broken).
