This is my problem as of right now. These are the possible reasons:

-Failed Logic Board
-Filed Graphics Card

This link talks about the Graphics Card problem which is very common in MacBook Pro models:

If it doesn't wake, take you MBP to an Authorized Repair Shop.

It would also help to know what model you have, and what you have tried to resolve the problem. You're not exactly overwhelming us with specificity here.

How many lights are showing on the battery? It has a full charge?

Can you turn the computer off by holding the power button? When you turn it back on, does it return to sleep immediately?

yeah, i can turn it on and off but it turns on and automatically goes into sleep, all 5 are showing, the little light on the front of the laptop is pulsating saying its in sleep mode

OK, that is unlike mine. The light on mine just turns on and stays on without pulsating. You may have a less serious problem than me.

Does the computer run properly with the battery removed? (There were actually two models released in 2008, the last aluminum body and the first unibody.)

B4 it decided to fall asleep, it worked fine without the battery...but right now its still asleep while the battery is out
