My macbook pro will not go past the apple start up screen

Hello. My macbook pro will not go past the apple logo. It does not load to the screen where you enter your username. This was after i turned it off. Please help me. Its the first time i am using an apple.

Am also curious. Which ones are the command and option keys?

the keys are labeled...

but the command keys are the to keys that are immediately to the left and right of the spacebar. the option keys are the next ones away from the spacebar on both sides.

Insert an install disc and hold the "c" key while turning on the computer to boot from the DVD, and if you need to you can restore the OS/make repairs.

Alternatively, you can try to boot into safe mode so the computer can rebuild some files. While in safe mode, maybe you can see what the problem is, delete it and then try to reboot. If that doesn't work, then maybe a reinstall is needed.

Hey thanx guys. I managed to rectify the problem. I reset the PRAM. Its working well now
