I bought a MacBook Pro about 6 months ago. The laptop was purchased from a store that my cousin works out by a customer, who immediately broke the display. He returned the laptop for a new one, and I bought the laptop at a discounted price. I have a monitor hooked up to the laptop ever since I bought it, as well as a wireless logitech keyboard and mouse.

When I would turn it on I would open the laptop, press power, and close the screen right away. This would send the display to my external monitor and away I would go. That was fine for 4 months. Then I have not used the laptop in the past 2 months.

I went to turn it on the other day. I see the display on my external monitor but it then promptly disappears after reaching the login screen. Sometimes, If I move the mouse around excessively eventually my external display becomes the main display. But this doesn't seem to work always, and if it does, the password screen disappears right away as soon as I stop moving the mouse.

I replaced the keyboard and mouse batteries today with brand new batteries that I just purchased.

Any idea what I need to do here to get back onto this laptop?

Nevermind, I'm an idiot. The laptop at some point came unplugged from the wall and the laptop battery was on it's last life. :D :D
