I am now on my 4th macbook (all others were horrible), and this one is perfect except for one thing. The entire thing vibrates constantly. I know its the harddrive. The three white macbooks that i had before this all did the same thing as well, all though the degree of vibration varied amongst all of them. I was at an apple store last weekend and checked the macbooks there, and every white one vibrated, yet none of the black ones did. I guess my question is, is this a problem? It seems a little strange to me that most, if not all, white macbooks do this.

Score!

Or...do you not want the vibrating?

I'd say that if you know certain that it is your HDD that is causing the vibration that that surely is not a good thing. There is no reason why your HDD should be constantly spinning (being accessed). This will shorten the life of the drive if it never spins down.

try returning it and going to a different Apple store and buying one.. hope that helps, i did it, worked like a charm. maybe just luck?

BTW, ours has never vibrated. Occasional miniscule vibration from the optical drive when it gets going real fast, but that's what optical drives do.
