Yesterday evening, I was charging my MBP, and as I went to go plug in my phone to the USB port, the screen went completely black. I have NOT been able to re-start it.
I changed electrical outlets, so I ruled out that possible problem of it not charging.
Whenever I plug in the charger to the side, the green light comes on, but it is very dim and flashes. I know for a fact my MPB was not fully charged when my phone was plugged in.

I also tried the SMC reboot instructions to the letter, and they have not worked either.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated; I really just want this thing to start!

The first thing I would try is using another charge that I know works. I had a similar problem a couple of years ago and the charger had died. I bought a new one and everything was fine. If you have a friend with a Macbook Pro trying borrowing his or her charger to see if your computer works.

Of course your problem may be much more serious but I would definitely try this.
