Hi!
Recently my girlfriend edited the settings of our wireless router and now my macbook wont automatically connect to it. I have saved it as my prefered router in my preferences but it seems to ignore this and connects to a neighbor's (inaccessible since it requires a password) router instead. This is getting to be very annoying each time I start up my computer and need to reconnect. In addition, it seems to transmit data rather slowly at times when i do force it to connect to our router.
Here is what my girlfriend edited on the router settings:
She changed our wireless channel from 1 to 11. I dont know what the significance of the wireless channel is but she did it because her wireless printer would not connect on channel 1 (which is the default channel).
Doing this required a reset of the router so she changed the name and password for accessing it as well.
Prior to these changes, my macbook had no problems staying consistently connected to our router and I am wondering if anyone can advise me how to get it back to being that way or at least some options i can start looking into?
