My macbook wont turn on?

I have a 2007 White Macbook and it wont turn on. When I plug in the power adaptor the green light on it turns on but when I go to power on the macbook nothing happens. Also when I hit the indicator button on the bottom of the battery none of the lights turn on.

So my question is this:

Is this just a battery problem or could it be something more?

If it is something more what could it be?
