Hi,

My MacBook's charger just died, this MB is two years old so the warranty is out. Ordered a new one. But it can take 6 days before I get it even though I paid extra for UPS to take it. Anyway my question is it started to smell like burned rubber and I wonder if I could try to plug it in or if I should restrain from doing so? I have to use an HP when this battery dies

I would play it safe and don't use it. It could damage the battery or something, but I'm not sure. Personally I wouldn't use it and I would suffer with the HP ;) until the new charger comes - you could damage something else and have to pay for that as well.

Just my opinion, I'm sure someone else in the know will come along and say what it'll do to the computer.

:)

Thanks guys! Going to hope that I get the new charger quickly and not risk anything. Looking closer at the charger where you can see the cable itself it dosen't look that good tbh.
