My MBP is stuttering

I have a MBP 2.2ghz, 2gb ram, 160gb hd its about 16 months old now. I still run 10.4.11.

Lately its been stuttering. What I mean by that is video will often hang. Like web vids, the audio will continue to play properly but the video will freeze fram for a moment or so and then quickly catch up.

It also happens when I type. the cursor will just stop and ill keep typing and then all of a sudeen the words I type appear on the scren in one chunk.

I guess maybe its just lagging.

Is it just old?

Is there something I can do?
