My MBP wont automatically connect to my wireless router......?

I just got a new router, and my MBP won't automatically connect to it. When I close my computer and re-open it, the airport won't auto connect to anything. When I click on the airport status, I can click on my router name and it works, but it used to do it automatically.

any suggestions?

you might try checking in your preferences under network and airport. Under the airport tab it will have a drop down box "by default, join". Next to that it should say Automatic. Thats about the only thing i can think of. aside from try restarting the computer.

it was set to "preferred"
