Every once in a while, my Monitor will go black. The light on the front (that is usually green when in use) will turn off, but I can tell that everything else is working just fine.

Despite complaining twice about this to my mother (and it happening to my father as well), she does not seem intent on making ANY moves to solve this problem.

Do any of you have ideas on what may be causing it?

I also have noticed that the box (I apologize, I can not remember it's name) tends to be very hot when it shuts off, but the slightest thing will overheat the box.

Never mind, it was just overheating.
Thank you for your responses. :)

I am quite familiar with the sleep mode, though.
