My new 13 in macbook pro is really slow

Is there anything that I can do to speed it up? It takes almost 10 seconds to load an internet page.
I've had it for 2 weeks

If it's new, it probably just has to cache the webpages. Then it will load them much faster.

I think mystic rage may be right. More info though would be better. And it may be your provider. Maintenance in your area? I would check especially if you have Comcast

I thought that too, weird isnt it? Perhaps your internet is just slow

How quick a webpage loads is not a measure of how fast your computer is.

Check your internet isn't being throttled, or if you are downloading torrents, make sure your upload speed isn't dominating your overall bandwidth.

Not to mention we don't even know whether this person is using a wired or wireless network connection. It could just be a bad wireless signal.

So there could be tons of reasons. I am just going to guess maybe they have another computer that is not slow. What all do you have going on when its going slow?
