I just got the new 15inch 2.4 MBP to replace my old powerbookG4 and everything is smooth expcept for my external monitor. I used this old 19inch Dell (i know, yuck) P992 monitor with my old PB and it was great. However, with my new MBP it displays too dark and I can't reach the maximum resolutions like I could with my PBg4. Any easy solutions?

Have you tried clicking the "Detect Displays" button yet?

yes i tried that. It detects the monitor and has a profile for it, but the profile is way too dark. I tried to create my own profile but it still comes out too dark. Also the fact that I cannot access the highest resolutions is weird since i could on my old PBg4 and on that PB it was brighter for the same profile.
