After over two months of waiting my 17" unibody finally arrived last week. I gotta say, I was going a bit nuts. Now it takes its rightful place in my tidy setup and I'm excited to show it off.

I replaced the 320GB 5400 drive myself with a 320GB 7200.3 Seagate. Then I put the MPB's original dirve in my stock Mac Mini along with 4GB of Ram from OWC. Both these machines are pretty darn snappy.

Ahggg! Look at that glossy screen, though. It's totally unusable next to a window! :D

Yup...and I'm officially jealous. It looks like that setup should be in front of a window overlooking NYC or something. :p

I can't believe your eye's weren't burned out from the glassy screen  You can't use that anywhere near direct light or a window OMG.

ROFL just starting off for the "glassy haters" lol great pic, chair looks comfy and is that golf course in the back?

I have had mine for 2 weeks now and don't think I could have waited via online order 2 months. I had to see it first, but congrats. I use my 17" in my recliner near a window all the time, love the large screen, great sound and portability of what is now my only computer. No more desktops for me.

yeah pretty unusable. I LOVE looking at a BIG orange chair reflections over my adobe documents!
(even visable in your picture)

I like the setup but it looks way too comfy for a workstation class machine such as the 17 inch. I'd expect a Macbook or MBA to go there, while the 17 inch would be connected to a number of external drives, displays, speaker systems, peripherals etc etc.

To each his own :D Still looks nice.

The screen isn't facing the window directly.

I don't care whether you prefer glossy over matte, or vice versa, but if you're going to try to say something smart, make sure it's actually smart.

Thanks so much, guys.

The Chair is the the k10 Dodo, the most comfortable recliner on the earth. It should still be in production. It's made by cassina.

The desk is a boomerang table by EQ3 and the height is adjustable so I can use in on the couch and the bed as well.

The computer is not facing the window because it never does. The chair turns and the desk moves. I just wanted the most dynamic angle.

And here is my wallpaper:
