While I know it’s not for everyone, I wanted to share my thoughts on my new favorite case for my 17 Pro Max:

The Arc Pulse 📱

I really wanted a case that allowed my phone to feel naked, but also provide drop protection while surrounding the plateau. The Arc Pulse really allows my phone to feel like there’s basically no case on it, but if it falls on a flat surface no part of the phone will ever touch anything due to its raised lip on all 4 corners. In addition to the metal frame, it also has a rubber lining on the inside of the case so if your phone does drop there’s a softer material taking the shock / impact.

Not having a case wrapped around my device also allows my phone to dissipate heat much better throughout the aluminum body. This will also help in the summertime when it’s hot out and the sun is shining bright not to overheat my Silver version. The way I normally hold my phone (fingers and thumb on the sides while pinkie holding up phone at the USB C charging port) my fingers never even touch the Arc Pulse so it feels just like a naked phone would.

I ended up going with the matte black Arc Pulse to pair with my Silver 17 Pro Max. If the silver version of the Arc Pulse was matte, I would have gone with it instead but they made it polished and I can’t stand that it shows fingerprints every time you look at it. The matte black version still looks fantastic and gives the phone a sort of “star wars / storm trooper” type of look.

In addition to showing no fingerprints, the matte black version also is 3 grams lighter than the silver version, coming in at only 16.7 grams total. I really like how light weight it is on the phone, seeing how the 17 Pro Max already has some heft on it 😅 for comparison, the TechWoven case (already very light compared to most cases out there) comes in around 35 grams.

I ended up getting it on the black friday deal for 10% off, bringing the total down to $63. You can find 10% off coupon codes pretty easy online. The Silver version by comparison was $81 after the 10% off coupon.

Lastly, while I have no fear at all of my phone being damaged on a flat surface, I also got AppleCare+ protection in case it somehow falls on a random jagged object. I am very careful with my phone and don’t expect that to happen at all, but just in case I have insurance ready to take care of it.

Again, I know this case isn’t for the majority who want their phone completely wrapped up, but for those who want drop protection that also lets your phone breath while still having the feel of the naked iPhone, then I think it’s a nice option to look into. I like to switch cases every now and then so at some point I’ll flip back to the TechWoven case for a bit, but currently the Arc Pulse is my favorite 🫶🏻

If you have any questions feel free to ask 🙂

P.S. while I won’t be doing any drop tests myself, I found this video helpful as to how much it will protect the phone from everyday drops:

I was surprised at how well this "case" actually protects the phone if dropped. Not a fan of the way it looks and it's very expensive for what it is, but it does offer good protection compared to many cases.
