I wanted a new watch, so i was recomended Festina watch and saw this beauty FESTINA F16883/1
Tour de france 2016 limited edition
I love the bronze color and legendary design of it
The watch was purchased from a Luxury watch store in spain
It came with a broken Box the piezes that hold the watch in the box was broken
The shop changed it and i got a new box.
Now i see the watch has a Brown strain on the calendar is near the calendar on top of it
it does not move when changing the date manualy.
so it must be on top of a inner crystal layer, not sure what it is if is strain, dust, pieze of something it is smale.
I contacted the Festina factory their answer is that they dont intend for now to change the watch for a new one even if is only 1 week and is a failure from their factories:
You must send in the watch for cleaning or repair of the calendar
you can go to any of our Time road stores and they will clean or repair it for you.
WHAT? 1 week new watch and i going to have it repaired when problem is from Festina factory
for a watch of 490 euro value and they dont change the watch.
If the broken box and strain on calendar was not enough
the Watch Festina F16883/1 have a mechanical failure
Calendar not change automatic when is 24 every night when a new day start.
I am checking the watch now to see if the calendar change date this night.
Calendar have a brown strain, the strain is on top of the calendar square not on the calendar itself, Strain dosnt move when date is changed manually, and the date wont change automaticly
Date do work changing it manually
1. Pull the crown out to 1 position and move the crown anticlockwise to change date as instruction booklet says
2. Or Pull the crown out to 2 position and move the big hour hands 24 times to get to a new day then date change manually.
Then pulling the crown back the Date should change automaticly at 24 o clock but it does not, only manually work, it should change date automatic every night.
This watch is just 1 weeks old and have a value of 490 euro.
A strain spot in the calendar is a aesthetic factory defect
with this Festina watch company should change the Watch but they dont want to
If watch also came with a broken watch box (The shop changed that not long ago) then is a broken packaging
the piezes that hold the watch in the box was broken when the watch came.
If the calendar not change automatic that is a mechanical failure from factory with right to immediate return
Now i have to get ready to return the watch if i see the calendar not change date.
Very bad experienice with Festina
I like the watch how it look but when Calendar not work, and it has a dirt strain from factory
then im not happy with it.
What do you guys think should i return the watch?
UPDATE:
Good news, Calendar finaly changed automaticly the date to 7 today at 24:01 tonight
this means the calendar do work, thats a relief.
Now the only problem is the dirt strain inside the watch, is only this problem then left
so up to me then to decide if i want to return it to the retailer or shop.
after all is a watch valued 490 euro
