I've got a new i7 MBP that has a screen that just goes black several times within 10 minutes. It's not a energy settings thing (those settings are set to about an hour). It's not a battery thing (it happens when I have 59% AND plugged into the wall).

Is this a known issue?
Is this the underbelly of two graphics systems?
Should I take it in to Applecare?

I'll put the question to you:

Should you keep it when it's performing this way?

No way. Take it in right now and get it fixed. Applecare is awesome.

I just don't get it. The OP buys a brand new computer, sees that there is an obvious defect and starts a thread here rather than calling the company for help? Sorry, but some things should be common sense in terms of what actions should be taken first.
