My new imovie 11 doesnt work very well

I just got an iLife 11. then I installed it instead of iLife 9
Everything works fine, except imovie, it only shows (a screen on the upper right corner) of import videos. None of any my projects are shown.
anyway my imovie 9 work fine.
please give me some suggestions because I want to make a video for my friend
