I was one of "those people" that were waiting for this, waited a long, long time... and now all I have to do is wait a few more days and I am so impatient!
edit: out of curiosity, when did you order? I got mine in a 11:20 AM PDT... but I got my federal discount, so I wouldn't be surprised if I got kicked to last in line, lol.

i ordered an hour after the keynote with my education discount i got the higher model 15 in, for 2300 after the student discount and a 16 dollar overnight fee.
im going to hold on a little more before ordering mine because where i live in cali there are alot of big fires omg lol, i dont want to take a chance lol 
for those who are ordering BTO mbp, i noticed it says shipping 3-5 days, does that mean you will get it in 3-5 days or it will take that long to process before it actually does ship? Because even if you ordered the base model it says 3-5 days before it ships also. I am confused.

Awww lucky you! My BTO 2.4GHz bumped to 4GB still hasnt shipped. I ordered on Oct 15 asn 12:00AM est. What is your estimated delivery? Did it change since its "prepared for shipment"?

Mine still shows Oct 20-24 as delivery dates so no changer there, but I have hope that it will arrive sooner as I think I've seen some cases with new MBP orders where once it shipped, it arrived next day.
Very exciting indeed, my PowerBook G4 12" is about to be phased out. It has served me well, but I think it knows that it's time, lol.
The Apple store must get slammed with people like me, refreshing the "Apple Order Status" page every few minuets, "just checking", to see if the slightest change has happened.
I've got Fedex setup to send me email alerts each time the system updates and I keep clicking refresh to see where it is. That doesn't change the fact that it'll take time to get here, but maybe it'll suddenly appear!

I was just starting to fall asleep when my iPhone mad the "new mail" sound. My first thought was, come on, why does my email torment me so! I couldn't help but check, and of course was pleasantly surprised.
