Hi,

I got my MacBook yesterday and gave it the full charge, let it stand with the power lead in for two hours then drain it etc. However, I let it charge overnight and it the battery is showing 92%.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try letting it discharge to 0% and then fully charge it again.

Otherwise, download CoconutBattery and see what the health is like. Since you just got your MacBook, if your battery isn't right, take it back to Apple and they'll give you a new battery.

Right, I installed CoconutBattery and the health is 100% and it says my MacBook is 7 weeks old.

Yes, the green light on the power cable comes on and the lights and button on the left hand side of the MacBook work also.

it doesn't go all the way to 100%, sometimes it stops it early. Mine was at 92% yesterday and it said "not charging" but only because it decided it was charged enough. I don't know how to "force" it to go all the way to 100% though

Try resetting the SMC. That is responsible for charging, so maybe something got corrupt in there (happens).

It should go all the way to 100% if the battery is in good health. And we're talking about a new MacBook battery, not a woren and used battery.

Aha!

Right, got a bit of luck here. After another cycle it has managed to get up to 100%, thank's guys. (Well it's on 99% at the moment).

One thing though about CoconutBattery is that I've seen many screenshots and there are two bars, one on the top for how charged the battery is and then one at the bottom for health.

Now mine is the same as this however, the bottom bar is for capacity.

Can anyone advise me how to change it to health?
