I just finished getting the new MBP hooked up via KVM to the center display in my PC's array. I'm really amazed at how well this little laptop is handling tasks while powering the 30". Thank you everyone who has answered this noobs questions....and the thread wouldn't be complete without some eye candy :)

what screens are those
very jealous as i had recently tried to buy a 19 for extended desktop but was to crappy compared to the mbp screen. :(

on all the screens do the boxes stay the same size like when you move them from one screen to the other. that was my problem.

also
+2 on what do you do.

Free Your MBP

Nice set up, but seeing your MBP in a hutch with pegs seemed restricted and some what spoiled the mobility for me.
Kind of like a dog on a leash, a computer without internet, a nice pair in a bra.

Damn. What do you do?

I operate an internet publishing company and use the real estate for everything from checking and tweaking code that is provided by our contractors to reviewing and performing minor edits to web graphics. I also perform a lot of research that requires huge spreadsheets. They come in really handy.

what screens are those

The center is the Samsung Syncmaster 30" and the two on the sides are 24" Soyo's (OfficeMax has them dirt cheap @ $299/ea and the LCD panels are P-MVA) Very good quality for the price.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'pegs', it's sitting on a riser to let the air flow underneath it - is that it? Unfortunately, the lappy will be a second desktop for now. I'm working on migrating over to mac entirely, but until I get settled into a workflow I need them both side by side so I can move one task over at a time and not loose any productivity to the learning curve of all this new software. In approx 4 months I will be taking an extended vacation to Bueno Aires and will be working entirely off of the MBP.

what do you have the 3 screens hooked up to?
like a matrox item or...

jealous.
when did you decide to put then 90 degrees i tried it and is so nice when looking at documents and writing codes
