I haven't been around lately; my (G3-500) iBook gave up the ghost after more than five years of being beat to hell.
So I trolled around on eBay for a bit and threw in a bid for a PowerMac G4 DA 466 where the seller was local enough for me to pick up. $104 (!!!) and she's mine. A G4 tower was my dream machine for years and I managed to snag one for a song.
Now I'm running it on a new 19" widescreen LCD, though it'll be slow as hell trying to push OSX on 128MB until the half gig of RAM I ordered shows up next week. I figure I'll be able to run this puppy for at least another two years at full tilt with a few additional minor upgrades (video card, HD and processor plus some extra ports via a PCI slot or two should cover me).
Excuse me while I bask in the glow of vintage professional-level PowerPC goodness. Mmmmmmmm.
